Anthurium pedatoradiatum ‘Fingers’ – an architectural accent with graceful, hand-shaped foliage
Anthurium pedatoradiatum ‘Fingers’ brings a sculptural, almost playful elegance to any indoor space. Its deeply divided leaves unfold like an open hand, shifting shape as the plant matures—from a few simple “fingers” in its youth to a dozen or more on fully grown foliage. This variety combines an exotic appearance with a calm, steady growth habit that suits modern homes and plant-filled interiors alike.

Botanically known as Anthurium pedatoradiatum, this aroid features glossy green leaves that may reach impressive sizes over time, supported by a compact, upright growth form. Young plants stay small, often just a few leaves at 6 inches tall, while mature specimens develop larger, more intricate lobes. Native to regions of Mexico and Central America, it thrives in warm, humid environments with filtered light—conditions similar to its natural forest understory habitat.

This Anthurium prefers bright to moderate indirect light. Placing Anthurium pedatoradiatum ‘Fingers’ within 2–3 feet of a window ensures steady growth while protecting its foliage from scorching. It tolerates lower light but may grow more slowly. A well-draining mix that retains some moisture works best. Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry slightly between waterings; consistently soggy soil can lead to root issues, while prolonged dryness may cause wilting. High humidity (60–80%) keeps the leaves lush and prevents browning, though it adapts to average household humidity with occasional misting.

Monthly feeding during spring and summer with a diluted indoor plant fertilizer supports healthy growth. Repotting every year or once the plant doubles in size helps replenish nutrients. In interior designs, Anthurium pedatoradiatum ‘Fingers’ pairs beautifully with other broad-leaf tropicals, ferns, and climbing aroids. Its unusual form adds contrast to softer foliage and works well in modern, minimalist, or botanical-style rooms. At Megagarden, it is appreciated for its ease of care and distinct character.
